2012 Plastic Surgery Statistics

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has posted plastic surgery statistics for 2012. Breast augmentation, has regained its status as the top surgical procedure in the United States. It was the second most popular procedure after liposuction in 2011.

The top five surgical procedures for women were: Breast Augmentation, Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Eyelid Surgery, and Rhinoplasty. The top five surgical procedures for men were: Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Eyelid Surgery, Male Breast Reduction, and Rhinoplasty. The top five non-surgical procedures: Botox, Hyaluronic Acid, Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion, and Chemical Peels.

Americans spent nearly $11 billion in plastic surgery procedures - $6.7 million was on surgical procedures and $4.2 million was on non-surgical procedures.
