Dr. Terry Myckatyn

In addition to being a diplomate of The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Myckatyn is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He holds medical licenses from Missouri and the Medical Council of Canada. He is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® (ASPS), and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). An Associate Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine, he is the Director of Cosmetic and Breast Plastic Surgery as well as the Breast Plastic Surgery Fellowship.

Dr. Myckatyn is part of the Clinical Trials Network, Emerging Trends Committee, and Breast Program Committee through the ASPS and the Hot Topics Committee and Patient Safety Committee for the ASAPS. He also has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed research articles and textbook chapters, has given many featured presentations at national and international medical conferences, is a member of the editorial board for Annals of Plastic Surgery and a reviewer for several other publications, and has contributed to numerous medical studies.

Throughout his education and career, Dr. Myckatyn has received numerous recognitions. Best Doctors Inc. has recognized Dr. Myckatyn as one of the “Best Doctors in St. Louis” and “Best Doctors in America” since 2008. He has also been recognized as a Best Doctor by US News and World Report. He remained on the Dean’s Honor List throughout his time in medical school.

Among other honors, he received 3 awards from the Washington University School of Medicine: Resident of the Year Award, Paul M. Weeks Resident Teaching Award, and Clinical Teacher of the Year Award. He received the John E. Hoopes Academic Scholar Award from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the C. James Carrico Faculty Research Fellowship from the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society for Peripheral Nerve Research Award.
