About Dr. Steven Vath

Dr. Steven D. Vath received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University just outside Boston. He then attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Rutgers Medical School). After medical school, he embarked on a six year general surgery residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. During this residency, he dedicated a year to surgical research focusing on infectious causes of death in the intensive care unit. This work led to presentations at national meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
After finishing his general surgery residency in Washington, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he received his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at the Louisiana State University Medical Center and Charity Hospital. Following this, he elected to seek further specialized training in cosmetic Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles, California. This cosmetic surgery fellowship, associated with the University of Southern California, is one of only a dozen in the country accredited by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Vath initially chose a career path in plastic surgery during his first year of general surgery residency. He was inspired by the effect such detail-oriented and artistic surgical procedures had on patients’ lives and touched by the heart-felt appreciation consistently expressed by those who had their aesthetic hopes realized. He was also impressed by the surgeons capable of meeting such expectations, both in terms of their surgical skills and the connections they established with their patients.

When describing his current Colorado cosmetic surgery practice, Dr. Vath says his approach is to blend tried and true, classic surgical procedures proven safe and effective over decades with innovative, state-of-the art techniques. In this way, he achieves the best possible surgical results while minimizing recovery time. He spends a great deal of time with each patient in consultation, learning goals, discussing surgical options, presenting diagrams and photographs and answering questions. Dr. Vath’s patients come away with the knowledge they need to make their own informed decisions; above all, they have an honest picture of the outcome they can expect.

Dr. Andrew Wolfe was raised in New York by parents who encouraged and supported their three sons’ academic goals. He distinguished himself at Cornell, receiving his undergraduate degree in psychology, then at the Chicago Medical School where he was chosen to participate in an honors program in pathology. Through that experience, Dr. Wolfe earned both his medical degree and a master’s in pathology focusing on wound healing.

Recognizing a strong affinity for the technical aspects of his studies, it was a natural move for Dr. Wolfe to pursue plastic surgery as his specialty. In fact, he felt so strongly drawn to the field that he characterizes his decision by saying plastic surgery “chose him.” After medical school, he was offered a much sought-after position in Georgetown University’s Integrated Program in Plastic Surgery. This six-year residency is one of a small number of programs in the country focused on advancing the quality of training in plastic surgery by increasing specialty-specific experience while de-emphasizing unrelated material.

Dr. Wolfe continued to distinguish himself during his advanced training, publishing a variety of articles on various plastic surgery topics and receiving several honors, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.

Perceiving a need for more Colorado plastic surgeons, and delighting in the beauty and the all-season recreational opportunities the Front Range area has to offer, Dr. Wolfe chose to develop his cosmetic surgery practice in Denver starting in 2001. Today he and his partner, Dr. Steven Vath, offer the latest in plastic surgery procedures for Denver patients such as facelift, breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction and many more.

Dr. Wolfe enjoys his work as much today as when he was in medical school. Dr. Paul M. Steinwald grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois. He graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After that, he completed his general surgery training at George Washington University Medical Center. He completed his plastic surgery training at The University of California at San Francisco.

Dr. Steinwald is friendly, compassionate, and has a warm “bedside manner”. Dr. Steinwald has a gift for establishing quality doctor-patient relationships.
