Surgeons' Education and Training
All four surgeons at Plastic Surgery Specialists are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and have completed general and plastic surgery residency training.

• Christopher J. Spittler, M.D., earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and also completed a fellowship in breast and cosmetic surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center. A national speaker and author of research related to plastic surgery, Dr. Spittler feels honored to be able to help patients achieve their aesthetic goals.
• D. Paul Buhrer, M.D., earned his medical degree from Tulane University. In his plastic surgery residency, he specialized in the innovative treatment of pediatric burns. Dr. Buhrer loves helping patients obtain an outward appearance that matches their inner beauty, and he enjoys getting to know his patients and building a lifelong relationship with them.
• David H. Lowe, M.D., earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Lowe served as an attending plastic surgeon at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and completed a hand surgery fellowship. Dr. Lowe's extensive training helps him to create artistry in the surgical procedures he performs.
• Daniel Laughlin, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Laughlin is committed to providing excellent cosmetic care in a warm and welcoming environment. Known for his surgical skill and approachable demeanor, Dr. Laughlin enjoys getting to know his patients and helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.
