About Dr. Steven Vath

Dr. Steven D. Vath received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University just outside Boston. He then attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Rutgers Medical School). After medical school, he embarked on a six year general surgery residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. During this residency, he dedicated a year to surgical research focusing on infectious causes of death in the intensive care unit. This work led to presentations at national meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
After finishing his general surgery residency in Washington, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he received his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at the Louisiana State University Medical Center and Charity Hospital. Following this, he elected to seek further specialized training in cosmetic Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles, California. This cosmetic surgery fellowship, associated with the University of Southern California, is one of only a dozen in the country accredited by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Vath initially chose a career path in plastic surgery during his first year of general surgery residency. He was inspired by the effect such detail-oriented and artistic surgical procedures had on patients’ lives and touched by the heart-felt appreciation consistently expressed by those who had their aesthetic hopes realized. He was also impressed by the surgeons capable of meeting such expectations, both in terms of their surgical skills and the connections they established with their patients.

When describing his current Colorado cosmetic surgery practice, Dr. Vath says his approach is to blend tried and true, classic surgical procedures proven safe and effective over decades with innovative, state-of-the art techniques. In this way, he achieves the best possible surgical results while minimizing recovery time. He spends a great deal of time with each patient in consultation, learning goals, discussing surgical options, presenting diagrams and photographs and answering questions. Dr. Vath’s patients come away with the knowledge they need to make their own informed decisions; above all, they have an honest picture of the outcome they can expect.

Most people who consult Dr. Vath discover, through the open lines of communication he establishes, that their appearance can be improved through plastic surgery and their outlook on life can receive a real boost. Dr. Vath says “It’s my privilege to provide this kind of care for my patients.”

Dr. Andrew Wolfe was raised in New York by parents who encouraged and supported their three sons’ academic goals. He distinguished himself at Cornell, receiving his undergraduate degree in psychology, then at the Chicago Medical School where he was chosen to participate in an honors program in pathology. Through that experience, Dr. Wolfe earned both his medical degree and a master’s in pathology focusing on wound healing.

Recognizing a strong affinity for the technical aspects of his studies, it was a natural move for Dr. Wolfe to pursue plastic surgery as his specialty. In fact, he felt so strongly drawn to the field that he characterizes his decision by saying plastic surgery “chose him.” After medical school, he was offered a much sought-after position in Georgetown University’s Integrated Program in Plastic Surgery. This six-year residency is one of a small number of programs in the country focused on advancing the quality of training in plastic surgery by increasing specialty-specific experience while de-emphasizing unrelated material.

Dr. Wolfe continued to distinguish himself during his advanced training, publishing a variety of articles on various plastic surgery topics and receiving several honors, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.

Perceiving a need for more Colorado plastic surgeons, and delighting in the beauty and the all-season recreational opportunities the Front Range area has to offer, Dr. Wolfe chose to develop his cosmetic surgery practice in Denver starting in 2001. Today he and his partner, Dr. Steven Vath, offer the latest in plastic surgery procedures for Denver patients such as facelift, breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction and many more.

Dr. Wolfe enjoys his work as much today as when he was in medical school. The breadth of procedures and the challenges of a dynamic field keep him busy and engaged as he balances new developments and technologies with his first priority: safe, effective surgical outcomes. Complementing his love for his field is Dr. Wolfe’s appreciation for his patients. He believes strongly that open, honest interaction leads to trust and understanding. That’s his approach to achieving two goals in one for his Denver cosmetic surgery patients: optimum surgical results and mutually-rewarding relationships.

Patient Testimonials for Dr. Vath, Dr. Wolfe, and Dr. Steinwald

“Thank you very much for everything. I’m very happy with my results. I wish there were more doctors out there like you …” - Raquel, breast reduction patient

“I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your awesome work. It’s been a little over a year since my surgery, and life has been great. Shopping is more fun and picking out swimsuits is now more enjoyable. I just can’t thank you enough for making me feel so confident.” - Nadia, breast reduction patient

“After my initial visit I felt very comfortable and welcomed. The surgery has provided me with a boost of self-confidence. All my clothes fit much better and I feel that I don’t need to be afraid of my previous belly hanging out. I sometimes feel like I am being dishonest with people think I naturally look great but instead I had great work done!!” - tummy tuck patient

“The doctor and his staff are fabulous, never made me feel bad about my questions, were always helpful and very very nice. I am thrilled with my results and care.” - Laura, tummy tuck patient

“All staff very professional and friendly/concerned about well-being/excellent communication with the patient.” - Brenda, abdominoplasty, liposuction, breast lift patient

“Everyone I encountered throughout the entire surgery experience was amazingly compassionate and friendly; VERY pleased!” - Kris Ann, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, BOTOX patient

“I am very happy that I had surgery. It changed my life. I am also very happy with the results.” -Latisha, breast reduction patient

“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to you … this surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. As a result of the surgery, I expected a few practical outcomes, such as clothes fitting better and having more bathing suit options. But the results, surprisingly, far surpassed my expectations. What I didn’t expect was that I would soon stand taller, smile wider and laugh louder. I didn’t expect the peaceful feelings that occur when one’s outside matches one’s inside. I didn’t expect to feel completely pleased and satisfied each time I catch my reflection in a store front window.

I respect and appreciate the level of skill and expertise it took for you to pull this off. The precision is amazing to me. I would not want to insult you by referring to what you do as art, given the many years of education and training it took to learn and master. Art, however, is what I see each time I look in the mirror.

I sincerely thank you for what you have given me. I have no interest in looking like I’m 20, but I must confess to loving every minute of looking like a damn good 37! The people who say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend have obviously never met you!” - Lynn, breast lift and tummy tuck patient

“Every moment and through every step, I felt heard, welcome and safe. I’ve been made to feel like ‘part of the family’ … ” - Ethan, chest reconstruction patient

“For a first time procedure, I was very impressed with the procedure and would return again for another type to be done. I’ve referred someone else to Dr. Steinwald because of my great experience.” - Linda, tummy tuck patient

“The office staff was great to work with. Sally went above and beyond with helping me deal with my insurance company. Dr. Steinwald was great overall and so was the rest of the hospital and office staff.” - April, breast reduction patient

“Well pleased, everyone was so helpful and thoughtful. Very professional.” -Wesley, melanoma removal/skin graft patient

“I never regretted my decision in having the reconstruction. Everyone was wonderful.” - Sue, breast reconstruction patient

Dear Dr. Vath,

Thank you for doing my breast augmentation surgery. Not only were you helpful during the consultation, but you were even more helpful post-op. My husband and I called you several times with questions and you were right there to answer them. You also stopped what you were doing (I think surgery) to look at how I was doing the next day, so we didn’t have to drive back down from Cheyenne. I hope you know how much this means to us. And now that the pain is finally going away - I’m really enjoying them.

Thank you again.

Dear Dr. Wolfe,

Your staff-every one of them-has been incredibly helpful in guiding me through this unfamiliar adventure Thanks to you and thanks to everyone!

Dr. Vath-

Just wanted to say thank you for my new “me.” I feel so much better!

Thanks for you time!

Dear Dr. Wolfe,

Thank you for the amazing and incredibly unbelievable transformation you have made to my body. I am in awe of your skill. I don’t even know if I can find the words to express how truly grateful I am. I have not had the opportunity to tell you in person and I would probably screw it up anyway. So, I’ll just give you an idea of what’s going on in two short months post-op.

During my fist couple of days at home, I spent a real good portion of it stoned out of my mind. Not always a bad way to spend a few afternoons. Then came the day when the “cling wrap” was removed - pretty exciting! Wow! Body parts actually stay suspended in mid-air! I went home and showed my daughters. I really wanted to show everyone but I did restrain myself.

Then came the day when all of my family went back to their lives and I was left to myself. I stood in front of my bathroom mirror and took my first real intense look at breasts. Even now as I recall that day I am overwhelmed with emotion. I stood there for the longest time and cried. I thanked God for such a lovely thing. I thanked you for doing such a beautiful job. I thanked my husband for loving me enough to know what I needed long before I even had a clue. I thanked the universe just because. You just happened to be the only one who hasn’t heard the words - thank you.

Since I was 15 years old I have been ashamed of my breasts. Forever hiding them - they have been like a deformity to me. Undressing anywhere was horrifying. Gym class showers were like hell. I actually needed 4 years of P.E. credits when I left school because I chose not to attend class than to be so humiliated.

Here I am 30 years later - with something way too wonderful to comprehend. I bought a blue bra with tiny little straps and a two-piece swimsuit. These are things I’ve only dreamed about owning. I’m still way too critical of myself and unbelievably obsessive. I still see all my flaws in bright, vivid color and I’m sure I imagine them to be much larger than they truly are. But, now my loathing is gone. I can walk in the wind and not want to die. I can hold my head up without being disgraced. You can’t even imagine. Thank you again.

Most gratefully yours.

Oh by the way, I work with a lot of middle age and older women who all wanted to have something done. I’ve been handing out your number like crazy - expect the phone calls. I could work on commission or just let me drive the car for 15 minutes.

Dr. Vath -

THANKS FOR THE LIFT!

You did a great job. I love my new “look” - it’s already made a difference in my life.

I also want to compliment you and Dr. Wolfe on the environment you’ve created in your practice. People do make a difference. Debbie, Cheryl and Chris are all friendly, fun and professional. They and you made me feel “worthy” and comfortable throughout the whole process.

This was no the case in 2003 when I explored cosmetic surgery options with four other surgeons (all more experienced).

Best wishes for your continued success.

Dr. Vath, Cheryl, Chris, Liz & Diana,

Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face. Your support and kindness made me realize that I made the right decision. Even with all my calls of concern.

I’m extremely happy with my results and would send anyone your way! Thanks again, you have a great team and I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you have done.

See you in the Spring!

Dear Dr. Andrew Wolfe:

Hello. I am writing to tell you of the very positive experience I had in your office recently. I was in on July 29th for a breast augmentation consultation and I was extremely impressed by the attitude and concern you and your staff showed to me. I have been to two other doctors for the same kind of consultation, and I did not leave their offices’ thinking “This is the doctor that is going to perform my surgery.” I felt that way leaving your office. I was excited and positive about the experience, and the upcoming surgery.

While I realize that there is some amount of ‘customer service’ quality to your business, I left feeling that you take a more personal approach than business approach. I appreciate that, no matter how much of it is my own interpretation or not. It didn’t sound like you had given that speech 8000 other times, or seen so many other patients. You were not put off by any of my questions or answers, and that is rare. Your staff, Diana in particular, was also very helpful in answering my questions, which I’m sure she has answered for others a million times.

I really want to thank you for your attention and time. I am hoping to have surgery this year (I actually wanted it by my birthday - September 24), I am just having some issues getting the finances all in order. I know that when I do get surgery, I would like to schedule it with you. Thank you again!

From Breast Health Online Laser bra with Dr. Vath - woohoo!!!!!

Hey everyone! I had my laser bra BR and FTT on May 6 with Dr. Vath in Denver. I’ve been traveling and somewhat lazy, so hopefully I’ll post pictures soon. I just can’t help but say that this man deserves to sit on top of the world with a crown on his head. He did such a miracle with my body. I can’t tell you what this has done for me emotionally!! I feel like a woman again. He made is affordable, too, though money seems trivial after something like this (and I’m a tightwad normally). As soon as I stop staring at myself in the mirror, I’ll take pix!! Thanks for being patient and so supportive.

If anyone is on the fence about this, please contact me. I bawled all the way to the airport coming home, and several times since. I haven’t had a sad thought or a moment of regret, just gratitude that I can probably never express enough.

Take care!!

Flying to Denver to Dr. Vath for my laser bra breast reduction and tummy tuck was the best thing I’ve ever done. I look and feel like a new woman! He is not only an outstanding surgeon, just as I was promised, but he is a kind, caring person who made me feel great about myself. Grand Rapids, MI

Hi. I’m a mother of three. After breastfeeding my last child I went from size 38 C to size 36 AA. I find this very embarrassing. I decided to undergo a breast augmentation surgery. Dr. Vath answered all of my questions and did a fantastic job on the surgery. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way. I walked into his office as a “mom” but I walked out as a “hot mom.” I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. I feel happy, confident again and forever grateful. Truly this has been one of the best experiences of my life. I’ve known Dr. Vath for several months. He is radiant, nurturing and extremely gifted physician. I would recommend him very highly to anyone.
