A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Inland Empire plastic surgeon Dr. Andreasen grew up with a fondness of plastic surgery. It was during his time as a successful Golden Glove boxer that his attention turned to this broad field. Dr. Andreasen became acquainted with a plastic surgeon who also partook in boxing, and as a result of this association, his interest grew. Dr. Andreasen went on to study in the field of plastic surgery for several years.
He completed medical school at the University of Utah following two years of religious missionary service, which he has been actively involved with since he was 19 years old. While in medical school, Dr. Andreasen developed advanced microsurgical skills under the direction of Graham Lister, a renowned hand surgeon. Dr. Andreasen’s efforts in microsurgical research contributed to one of his major accomplishments – defining the effects of trauma on microcirculation. He graduated at the top of his medical school class, and was awarded the highest achievement award from his alma mater.
Dr. Andreasen was then chosen as one of the first medical school graduates in the United States to train in an integrated General Surgery/Plastic Surgery program, which emphasized cosmetic surgery. He excelled in all areas of his training at Loma Linda University, and established himself as one of their premier plastic surgical trainees. Cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face, and reconstructive surgery of the breast were some of Dr. Andreasen’s particular interests. While at Loma Linda, he captained the Loma Linda Good Samaritan Plastic Surgery efforts in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Twice a year, this team offered reconstructive surgery services to impoverished children who would otherwise have no access to these procedures. Dr. Andreasen's experience in burn surgery as well as his training in cleft lip and palate repair are valuable aspects of the missionary endeavor.
Dr. Andreasen's strive toward excellence in plastic surgery carries into the comfort and professionalism of his private practice. He serves cities throughout the Inland Empire ("IE"), including Upland, Riverside, Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, and Corona. A specialist in cosmetic and plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body, Dr. Andreasen performs hundreds of breast augmentations, breast lifts, and corrective breast surgeries every year. He is fully trained in the use of all available saline and silicone gel-filled implants; patients have the freedom to choose their desired implant and surgical techniques.
