About Dr. Francis Johns

Dr. Francis Johns has training in oral & maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Less than 50 plastic surgeons in the country have this unique background. Dr. Johns was raised in the Pittsburgh area. He was Valedictorian of his class at Penn Hills Senior High School. He received a scholarship to Geneva College where he played football. After transferring to the University of Pittsburgh he received his B.S. degree in pre-medicine graduating suma cum laude. Dr. Johns went on to earn his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He was Valedictorian and a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Society. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Johns graduated with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Society. Dr. Johns completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then completed additional training in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He went on to complete a residency training program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Virginia Health Center.
