Dr. Nadia S. Afridi is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada, an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Upon completing medical school, Dr. Afridi entered a highly competitive integrated plastic surgery residency program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Five years of residency training culminated in a final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Afridi then completed one year of sub-specialty training in the U.S., focusing on reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery as well as body contouring with internationally recognized surgeon and scholar, Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell.
As one of a limited number of female plastic surgeons in New York City, Dr. Afridi is specifically interested in women's health issues as they relate to plastic surgery. In particular, being a new mother has made her keenly aware of the needs of young moms who want to experience the joys of family but keep their pre-baby physiques.
