9 Brazilian Butt Lift Questions Every Woman Has (But is Afraid to Ask)

Houston Plastic Surgeon By Dr. Paul Vitenas, Jr.

It is not always easy to ask questions, especially when it comes to a cosmetic procedure. However, Dr. Vitenas wants to give you the necessary tools to make an informed decision about our award winning, fat transfer techniques. The Brazilian Butt Lift is one of the most requested procedures at Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery, and for good reason, as it provides beautiful body contouring results. Below are the answers to some of our most common Brazilian Butt Lift questions:

1. Why would I get a Brazilian Butt Lift instead of butt implants?

A Brazilian Butt Lift utilizes your own fatty tissue, meaning there is less chance for complications following the procedure. The technique is minimally invasive, as well as provides more natural looking and feeling results than silicone implants.

2. Where will the fat for my Brazilian Butt Lift be taken from my body?

The fatty tissue will be donated from a place that has excess fat already, such as the flanks (Love Handles), stomach, or inner thighs. At your consultation, Dr. Vitenas will determine the best donation site for your body.

3. How much fat is needed for my Brazilian Butt Lift?

Keep in mind that everyone is different. The amount of fat necessary to create a natural looking, proportionate bottom will depend on your body size, width, and height, as well as your personal desires.

4. Can I have a butt that looks like Kim Kardashian?

It is always good for patients to come into the office with an ‘ideal’ bottom in mind, however, there are many factors that will limit the final results, such as body shape/size and genetics.

5. Is a Brazilian Butt Lift safe?

Yes, the Brazilian Butt Lift is a safe and effective procedure. While there are minor risks involved, such as infection, asymmetry, and fat embolisms, these are rare when patients choose a Board Certified surgeon like Dr. Paul Vitenas.

6. Will my Brazilian Butt Lift scar?

Scarring after a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is minimum, but it does occur. Dr. Vitenas will ensure that all scars are well hidden within the natural anatomy, making them easily concealed.

7.  How long will my Brazilian Butt Lift results last?

The benefits from a Brazilian Butt Lift will last for years to come. Large weight fluctuations can affect the results, however, so patients are encouraged to remain at a stable weight to better maintain their new look.

8. What if I become pregnant after my Brazilin Butt Lift?

There is no problem with pregnancy or childbirth following a Brazilin Butt Lift. However, the weight changes associated with pregnancy can affect the volume and size of the buttocks.

9. Will I be able to sit after my Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?

For the first two to three weeks, following your Brazilian Butt Lift, Dr. Vitenas recommends avoiding putting pressure on the buttocks, as the fatty tissue is still fragile. This will mean sleeping on your side or stomach, and using a special cushion/donut when you must sit.
